Akumal Bay is well know for it's population of sea turtles. The coral reef has a large sandy bay behind it where sea grass grows in 6-10 feet deep waters. The sea turtles love to graze on the grass.
This one is a sting ray, but they stay mostly on the sandy bottom.
In the cove by the villa there was also many interesting fish to see.
This fish is a barracuda. with a mean jaw and sharp teeth, but not to worry, he just eats small fish.
